The 5 Love Languages… but for Handmade Sketchbooks
I was reading Captivate by Vanessa Van Edwards the other night (because I’m a nerd who likes learning more about the way humans show up in the world), and she brought up the 5 love languages. You know the ones: Words of Affirmation, Acts of Service, Receiving Gifts, Quality Time, and Physical Touch.
And immediately my brain went:
Okay but… what if it was sketchbooks.
So, in the spirit of love and lovingly stitched spines, I present:
The 5 Love Languages — Handmade Sketchbook Edition
1. Words of Affirmation
Tell me my sketchbook is pretty… and/or tell me I’m a beautiful, emotional creative genius who deserves nice paper.
2. Acts of Service
Print me my art onto high quality cotton linen and bind me a sketchbook.
3. Receiving Gifts
Here’s a handbound sketchbook.
4. Quality Time
Let’s just hang out and journal/sketch together with our fave music and snacks.
5. Physical Touch
Have you ever had a sketchbook cover so tactile you can’t help but run your hands over it? IYKYK.
So what’s your sketchbook love language?
Tell me in the comments, or better yet, tag your art BFF who needs to be loved in hardcover linen. 💘
And if you’re now suddenly craving a journal that speaks your love language back to you?
Well. You’re in the right place.
